How the lists work
Every list says what it was judged on, and it says it before the first entry arrives. Nobody is measured against a target that moved after they applied.
Getting listed
Anyone can be listed, and it is free. Send a name and a link and that is enough. There is no review fee and no paid queue to skip.
Getting ranked
A ranked place needs something we can check: a public pricing page, a report, an audit, a test result. Send one if you have it and we will look. If you do not, the entry still appears, it just sits in the unranked part of the list until there is something to check.
Reader votes
Readers can vote for up to three entries per category and remove their votes. The vote counts are separate from our evidence-based ranking. A reader-vote ranking appears only after 10 votes across at least three entries. Votes are not verified reviews.
What verified means
That someone checked a specific claim against a named source on a named date, and the entry says which. It is not an endorsement, and it does not last forever: when the check goes stale the seal comes off.
Corrections
Tell us what is wrong and we will fix it, with the date of the change on the entry.
How this is paid for
Sponsored placements, and affiliate links on some lists. Both are labelled where they appear and neither changes the order of a list.
